We always have a great Sunday carvery here ..plenty of meat and veg always topped up and great friendly service..
A Warm and friendly welcome awaited us on Sunday 4pm..We looked at the menus and chose the carvery.There was a choice of four roasted meats.Meat was moist,lean and tender..Fresh cooked vegetables,(nothing frozen) creamed swede was very tasty!! Perfect Yorkshire Puddings,crispy roast potatoes..Everything was piping hot,plenty of sauces and gravy..Service was great, smiling,friendly staff despite being busy..I can see why this place is popular and I without any hesitation i definitely be returning.
A great place for a family meals. The food is generously portioned and good quality, while not cheap this is good value. I had the 8oz Dorset Burger, a really satisfying meal.
Lovely carvery, and on a separate occasion we had the cod and chips, or shall we call it whale and chips? The cod was enormous!!! And it was all freshly cooked, we couldn't eat it all, but our dog was very happy to oblige us by finishing it off! Oh that's another plus, you can take your dog into this pub!!! Very dog friendly!!!
We wanted a late lunch mid-afternoon and were pleased to find that food is served all day. We both had liver and bacon which was beautifully cooked and served with mashed potato and peas. There is a wide ranging menu to suit all tastes and a carvery most lunchtimes. The carvery runs from 12-6pm on Sundays, but we were told you need to book as it's so popular.The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
